“Kruger National Park”
The Kruger National Park is home to the greatest diversity of
wildlife species found in any park in the world. This is as a
result of its size and shape, which covers different
topography with varying annual rainfall influence that in turn
create a variety of habitats.
Giants of the North
This safari into the mighty Kruger Park (2.2 million
hectares), enters via the Orpen gate. We travel north through
the changing habitats of this wildlife kingdom, over the
Olifants river, home to large pods of hippopotamus and giant
crocodiles and one of the largest rivers flowing through
Kruger. Entering the Mopani vegetation of central Kruger
ensures sighting of elephants. We visit Letaba rest camp, on
the banks of the river with the same name and home to the
superb environmental centre specialising in elephants with
displays of the “Magnificent 7”, the seven largest tuskers
found in the reserve. The safari then travels west to exit the
park trough Phalaborwa and returns you to your lodge in the
late afternoon. A delightful day in one of the worlds most
famous parks.
