Day
1 – Fly from
Johannesburg to ‘Kruger Gateway Airport’ Phalaborwa where
you will meet your McFarlane Ranger / Guide who will be your
host for the duration of your stay.
(NOTE:
An alternative overland shuttle service is available – on
request.)
Enter
the Kruger Park through Phalaborwa gate and enjoy your first
game drive in this magnificent sanctuary on your way to the
camp for check in. After the evening game drive enjoy dinner
and overnight at the camp.
Day
2 – A pre dawn wake
up call with tea, coffee and traditional ‘rusks’ before
departing on your sunrise game drive. After breakfast and
further drives, the heat of the day, when wildlife seeks
shelter, is spent in the camp. Later we depart the camp for
the afternoon /evening game drive to explore further afield
before dinner and overnight at the camp.

3 – Another early
wake up call and game drive to another camp for breakfast
after which your game drive ends at the airport for your
return flight (Alternative overland shuttle)

A most exciting safari, combining of all the
Eastern Lowveld of
South Africa has to offer!
Safaris through the Southern and Northern Kruger National
Park, wonderful private game lodges, a visit to the Blyde
River Canyon and the gardens of the famous Rain Queen, the
unique Mojadji cycad forest, and the culture and history of
the people of this beautiful area. Also included are the
Limpopo
river and mysteries of the for northern
Limpopo
province. All this while being pampered in the superb
luxury of the Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps, the wonderful
Coach House and, one of the new gems of the north, The
Outpost, in the Kruger National Park.
Day 1
Depart Johannesburg on SA8124
JNB MQP 0940 1035 to Nelspruit. On arrival you will be met by
your ranger/guide and enter the southern Kruger
National Park through Paul
Kruger gate. Game viewing starts immediately as we travel
north to Orpen Gate and Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps. We
will arrive at +-16h00 for an evening and night safari on open
vehicles before dinner at the lodge.
Overnight: HONEYGUIDE
Day 2
Early wake up call with coffee
before your dawn safari. After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a
bush walk with your ranger or relax around the lodge pool. A
day for you to fully enjoy the magic of the African bush.
Perhaps a siesta, before afternoon tea and your evening game
drive. Overnight: HONEYGUIDE
Day 3
After your morning game drive
and breakfast we depart the lodge at 09h00 and travel to the
mighty Drakensberg Escarpment and into the awesome Blyde
River Canyon for a visit to the
dam and museum. We then travel North at the foot of the
escarpment to the lovely Coach House for lunch. Set in cool
forests the Coach House is the ideal place to relax for the
afternoon. Maybe a walk or a visit to the Agatha Health Spa
for a massage. The day is completed with a sumptuous dinner.

Day 4
After breakfast we depart at
08h30 via the town of Tzaneen and on to the gardens of the
Rain Queen at Mojadji Cycad Reserve. The Rain Queen, Mojadji,
was immortalized by Rydar Haggard in his book “SHE”. Traveling
north we pass through colourful rural villages on our way to
the Punda Maria gate of the Kruger
Park. Here we enter the Kruger
again, into the land of giant Baobab trees, elephants, legends
and history. Dependant on game sightings we arrive at The
Outpost in the mid afternoon with time to enjoy the
magnificent setting of the lodge, high above the Levubu river,

Day 5
A full day to enjoy this
unspoilt region of Kruger. In the words of Rudyard Kipling “on
the banks of the great, grey, green, greasy Limpopo
River” A land of mystery and
legends. We visit the Fever Tree
Forest and “Crooks Corner”, where 3 countries meet. The history of the Makuleke
people also forms an important portion of this day, all while
enjoying wonderful game viewing and magnificent birding.

Day 6
We depart at 08h30 and drive
west along the Limpopo River valley before turning south
through the tunnels of Wyliespoort Pass, through the towering
Soutpansberg mountains. After a late morning stop in Mokado
(Formally: Louis Trichardt) we continue south to Polokwane
(formally: Pietersberg) to check in for SA8103 PTG JNB 1410
1515 to Johannesburg. A sad end to a truly magnificent safari!

Although
endangered elsewhere the Central and Northern areas of the
Kruger National Park and surrounding private reserves are
famed for their populations of Elephant. Careful
conservation practices now offer you the opportunity of
viewing these magnificent mammals including some of the
largest Tuskers in the world today.
Day
1 – After your
arrival at the airport we explore the Letaba river areas
of the Kruger before arriving at the Letaba Camp. A visit
to the Elephant museum in this delightful setting is
essential. O/N

Day
2 – After a dawn
game drive and breakfast we transfer to Kapama Lodge in
the Kapama game reserve. Apart from Elephants, Kapama is
famed for sightings of Africa’s ‘Big 5’ (Lion,
Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant)

Day
3 – This morning
you will enjoy the ultimate African wildlife experience
with an Elephant back safari viewing game from the back of
the largest land mammal. Breakfast and an optional walk
before we transfer to the airport for your return flight.

An
in depth safari of Kruger, from the Northern regions down
into the South. This safari offers superb game viewing, a
game trail with an armed ranger, bush braai (BBQ), and a
look behind the scenes at the Conservation HQ at Skukuza
all under the guidance of your experienced ranger / guide.
Day
1 - Fly JNB to
Phalaborwa where you will meet your McFarlane Ranger /
Guide who will be your host for the duration of your stay.
We travel North in Kruger through the Mopani vegetation to
the camp of the same name. This area is famed for its’
populations of Elephant. This evening is set aside to
enjoy a night drive and ‘welcome bush braai’ (BBQ)
before over night at MOPANI CAMP

Day
2 – After an
early wake up you will enjoy a game trail under the
guidance of armed Kruger field guides for the morning.
After lunch and a siesta or relaxing round the pool, we go
on a game drive to return for dinner and overnight at MOPANI
CAMP.

Day
3 - Pre dawn
wake up with coffee before we depart on a dawn game drive
to Letaba Rest Camp for breakfast. We visit the Letaba
Environmental Centre featuring the 'Magnificent 7'. The
Kruger, through careful management over the years, has the
finest sustainable populations of Elephant in Southern
Africa. These include the largest bulls in the world. Seven
of these have died in the last years and their tusks and
individual history can be seen in this centre. We
then travel on to Olifants Rest Camp, on the Olifants
River, to check in. Olifants is a magnificent camp, with
lovely views of the river and surrounding bush. Another
evening game drive with dinner and overnight at OLIFANTS
CAMP
Day
4 - Pre dawn
wake up for a dawn game drive in the central areas of
Kruger. This area carries a great diversity and number of
herbivores and as such good populations of Africa’s
larger predators. The hot hours of the day are spent
enjoying the views of the river with its’ resident herds
of Hippo and large Crocodiles or relaxing. An evening game
drive on the ‘river loop’ before dinner and overnight
at OLIFANTS CAMP
Day
5 - Another
early departure before we leave on our game drive through
central Kruger and on, into the South. We arrive at
Skukuza for lunch and check in. Time to relax, visit the
wonderful Museum, or explore the lovely camp, on the banks
of the Sabie River, before the afternoon drive. Skukuza is
the main camp in Kruger and HQ for the departments of
tourism and conservation. Historically, it was the base
camp for the first warden of the then, Sabi Game Reserve,
Col. James Stevenson Hamilton in 1902. After the
afternoon drive we will enjoy a 'Farewell Dinner'

Day
6 - After breakfast we will visit the
Conservation Department for a look 'behind the scenes'.
Visit the game capture ‘boma’, hear of current
research programs, and gain a greater insight to the
wonderful conservation work being done, before your last
game drive to the airport or for the transfer to your
chosen private game lodge.

1 – Fly from Johannesburg International Airport to
the Kruger Gateway Airport at Phalaborwa where you will be
met by your ranger /guide and your safari begins
immediately as you enter the Kruger. This is an area famed
for its elephants including some of the largest tuskers in
Africa. In the evening you will arrive at the restcamp for
check in and your first night to the calls of the African
bush.

Kruger Park Rest Camp (DBB)
Day
2 – You will be woken before dawn for coffee and
traditional rusks before a dawn game drive in search of
Africas’ predators before they seek shade in the
heat of the day. After breakfast, you will enjoy a further
game drive before returning to the camp to relax. Your
guide will arrange a time for the afternoon drive before
you enjoy dinner and another night in the Kruger.

Day
3 – Another early start before we head North on a
game drive over the Olifants and Letaba rivers. Apart from
the herds of game on the way, you stand a very chance to
see Hippos’ and Crocodiles in these rivers. We breakfast
in a restcamp and visit to the Environmental
Centre and Elephant museum before returning to
Phalaborwa for your return flight (or extention 2)

3 – After a short transfer we enter the Thornybush
Game Reserve and check in at the superb Chapundu game
lodge. The afternoon and night game drives take place on
open 4x4 vehicles with your armed ranger and tracker. As
it gets dark the tracker makes use of a powerful spotlight
to point out the reflecting eyes of game at night. After a
sumptuous dinner around the fire we overnight at this
lovely lodge.

Day
4 – A sunrise
game drive on the open vehicle before breakfast. This is
followed by an optional interpretive walk in the African
bush with your ranger to for an in depth insight into
ecology and conservation. We depart the lodge in the late

4 – We climb the towering Drakensburg escarpment,
comprising of some of the oldest rock in the world. This
is an area of great beauty, forest, streams, waterfalls
and the mighty Blyde River Canyon. The day includes visits
to the canyon, Gods Window, Bourkes Luck and the historic
mining village of Pilgrims Rest. This is a day of great
beauty and contrasts. Sundowners and a walk in the village
before dinner.

Day
5 – After breakfast and further exploring the
village we depart over Robbers Pass via the fertile
Orighstad valley and the Abel Erasmus Pass to the lowveld
again. A short visit to the reptile park before we
continue to Kruger Gateway airport for your midday flight.
